Software Engineer
Location: McLean, VA
Duration: 7 months with possible contract to hire
Job Description:
Build automated monitoring, alerting and dashboard capabilities for CICD processes, production KPIs and other metrics
- Proficient in Docker and familiar with relevant technologies such as AWS ECS, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Nomad
- Familiarity with Configuration Management and CI/CD deployments
- Professional experience managing AWS cloud resources
- High proficiency in using Git to manage source code
- Fully understand the data technology operations and align the horizontal operations to data strategy
- Prepare for, coordinate, and respond to data incidents impacting data pipeline management processes
- Proactively engage team members and project leads to ensure system changes or enhancements consider audit controls and IT standards before implementation
- At least 2 years supporting operational processes tied to data management execution - availability, reliability, performance.
- 1+ years of experience using following: Cloud Watch, Data Dog, Splunk, ELK Stack, Zabbix, OverOps
- 1+ years of experience using APMs: New Relic, AppDynamics, Dynatrace

Additional Skills:

Overview/Purpose:
Source Data, Management of Data – AWS/Infrastructure – target that Data to various departments, pipeline the process data. Create Network/Operations Data Center.
This position is not only Application Development but managing Data and strong Monitoring and DevOps(CI/CD), AWS.
Additional Information:
Infrastructure set-up for one leg of Enterprise with data flow both directions
Creating a Network operations center to have visibility of this infrastructure
Candidates need understanding what is takes to keep this running 24/7
Building tools to manage and monitor and track and problem-solve (Cloud Watch, Data Dog, HP Service Manager, moving to Service Now)
This team will be building this operational capability
Skills in Python and Java are great
