Title:Software Engineer NET)
Type: Contract or Contract to hire
Duration: 6 months with possible extension / conversion
Location: Jersey City, NJ (occasional travel to Philadelphia, PA)
Start date: ASAP
Under the direction of the API Lead Engineer, the Software Engineer will be primarily responsible for the implementation of required Azure resources and dependent .NET components according to the reference architecture. Additional responsibilities include developing proof of concepts to validate architecture / design and developing automated unit tests where applicable.
Responsibilities
: Participates in all phases of the software development life cycle, as appropriate
: Authors the coding and automated unit tests as per the solution design
: Performs maintenance and support activities related to the Digital API platform
: Assists with the creation of all technical artifacts related to integration and solution design
: Works closely business analysts and quality assurance testers
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Requirements
: Bachelor of Science in computer science or related discipline (equivalent training and experience maybe considered)
: 3+ years of experience designing and developing software solutions using Microsoft technologies (ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, WCF, Web Services)
: Experience delivering technology solutions in a live production environment
: Working knowledge in the following areas: Microservices Architecture, REST, SOA, OO design patterns, and SOLID principles
: Possesses knowledge in systems analysis, design, development, quality assurance, and integration methodologies
: Participated in technology projects that followed an SDLC, e.g. Waterfall or Agile
: Self-motivated, avid learner, and is a focused and versatile team player that is comfortable under pressure
: Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
: Excellent written and oral communication skills
Desired Skills
: Working knowledge in Microsoft Azure with one or more of the following: API Management, API Apps, Service Fabric
: Experience with .NET Core, ASP.NET 5, and MVC6
: Experience working with large complex XML and XSLT
: Knowledge of P&C Insurance industry
