Job Description :
The EED-2 program is seeking an experienced software engineer with proven experience working in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment to onboard the existing Global Imagery Browse Service (GIBS) onto the NASA General Application Platform (NGAP) system. As a member of our GIBS in the Cloud (GitC) team, the candidate will be
be responsible for development activities requires to evolve this system that provides full resolution visual representations of NASA Earth science data in a free, open, and interoperable manner system into a cloud-based service residing on NGAP.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Support the development and sustainment of the GitC system.
2. Support the onboarding GitC into NGAP.
3. Support the automation of tasks and development of scripts.
4. Ensure industry best practices and assets are leveraged when necessary.

Required Skills:
1. 3 years of experience working with development teams using an Agile methodology (preferably SCRUM) from initial requirements through delivery and maintenance.
2. 2 years of experience developing, deploying, and testing in AWS environment.
3. Experience with Agile development practices, specifically TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration, and automated testing using Cucumber.
4. Experience using Java, Ruby on Rails and clojure.
5. Ability to clearly articulate project status or operational issues to management and to the end users.
6. Proven ability to prioritize, and execute multiple concurrent project activities.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Energetic, self motivated, team player.

Desired Skills:
1. Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite (JIRA for bug tracking, Confluence for collaboration, and preferably Bamboo for continuous integration and delivery
