Description
Position Overview:
Client seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong test automation skills to join our expanding Ag Tech Product Development team. In this key role, you will collaborate with mobile and server-side Software Engineers, Product Managers, Data Scientists, and other Test / QA Engineers to design, build, manage, and execute flexible and robust automated test frameworks that ensure our rapidly growing Farming industry customer base benefits from the highest quality and most performant mobile and web experience possible.
What You Will Do:
Pair up with software engineers, product owners and test engineers to deliver api-level test suites (Java, Clojure, Scala, Ruby, or Python) for multiple back-end services that power our system
Collaborate with scientists and engineers to ensure the data and software tools they use are accurate and reliable
Write code to help you explore the product, not just automate what we already know.
Write up test strategies, test plans, design documents, and whatever else may be needed
Actively engage in root cause analysis reviews
Assist in on-going process improvement efforts to ensure test planning, execution, and reporting is effective and efficient
Create detailed incident reports for production issues
Be willing to take on other responsibilities and tackle a variety of engineering and testing challenges - we are a small team and all share roles
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years’ experience designing and developing test automation scripts for web, iOS functional, and performance testing
Bachelor''s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field. Equivalent work experience may be accepted.
Strong understanding of HTTP protocols, REST, SOA
Experience with Java, JavaScript, Python, Swift, Objective C
Experience with Selenium, Appium, XCTest, and other UI/Mobile testing frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Android functional / performance test experience is a plus!
Experience deploying tests into continuous integration systems (we use Jenkins)
Complete familiarity with testing in fully virtualized environments (e.g. AWS)
At least a working knowledge of Linux, RDBMS, and open-source testing tools.
You understand deadlines and the need to deliver the most valuable things first
Experience with Selenium, Appium, XCTest, and other UI/Mobile testing frameworks.
Deep understanding of common user interface design patterns and software quality assurance methodologies.
Working knowledge of a mobile automation frameworks, Git, Jenkins, submission, and launch cycle of mobile.
Experience with web and API testing.
