Essential Skills
Self-Starter with a sense or product ownership and stewardship who understand working in a Team setting across various stakeholder groups, with time-sensitive issues.
SharePoint 2010 (old/current environment), SharePoint 2013 (skipping this version), SharePoint 2016 (uses many similar principals to the 2013 version)
Proficient in PowerShell Scripting for SharePoint
Knowledge of SQL Server (SSMS) and Security architecture of SQL
Knowledge of Multi-factor Authentication, Active Directory, SQL Database Architecture, Load Balancers, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, IIS, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2016, Office 2016 Products and integration with SharePoint tools, and Firewalls
Familiarity with RDP and/or TPAM to access servers/logon
Familiarity with Antivirus tools
Familiarity with Sharegate and or Metalogix Migration tools
Role Description
Ability to work across Teams to coordinate with Server-OS Support, SQL DBAs, and F5 Load Balancer admins, and Firewall teams to solve problems and the ability to prioritize those issues as they relate to SharePoint
Familiarity with Wireshark, Fiddler, and other network tools to capture information about problems and work across the support teams
Familiarity with using common logging tools such as Computer Manager, IIS Logs, SharePoint ULS Logs to discover issues.
Installation of SharePoint application, configuration, and knowledge of applying Cumulative Updates
Configuration of Service Applications including Search, User Profiles, Metadata, Workflow and more
Management of Retention Policies at the farm level
Ability to manage custom timer jobs
Management of Service Accounts and password changes
Management of Managed Metadata including proper methods to retire terms, deprecate terms, update terms, add new terms
Familiarity with managing custom E-mail Alert Templates
Familiarity with Claims Based authentication
Ability to troubleshoot SharePoint forms and workflow issues (used heavily in this environment)
Ability to troubleshoot security and access issues not only on the site but for downloading documents or working in the browser and direct users on how to resolve (will require some knowledge of environment onboarding processes to be learned)
Ability to write and maintain People-Picker filters
