Services engineer with Cloud Stack

Job location – Washington DC

Type – Full time

Job Description/Requirements:

Provide an exceptional on site customer experience for our clients.
Daily management and administration of Linux & Windows hosted VM’s
Administration of KVM, XenServer & VMWare ESX Hypervisors, along with Apache CloudStack management
Intermediate and advanced support for web & database servers, applications, and end-users
Support and administration of backup & disaster recovery solutions
Assist in the maintenance of customer datacenter operations as needed
Shared responsibility of after-hours on-call duties as assigned
Support and administration of Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop server farm

Required/Mandatory Skills:

Ability to use critical thinking and apply to problem solving skills
Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills are a must
Advanced knowledge of Apache Cloudstack / CloudPlatform
Intermediate to strong competency with SMTP, DNS, TCP/IP, and FTP
Intermediate to strong skills with Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP
Intermediate to advanced LAN/WAN knowledge and troubleshooting capabilities
Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Windows Server and Active Directory
Intermediate to advanced Powershell scripting capabilities
Must be a quick learner with a desire to work in a team-oriented environment

Desired/Optional Skills:

Docker, Chef, Puppet, Kubernetes experience a plus
Programming/Scripting experience a plus
Solutions Architect/Sales Engineer experience a plus
AWS & Azure competency a plus

Qualifications:

Focus of study in Information Systems is an asset
Minimum 8 years in the IT Industry
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management skills and proven ability to multi-task competing priorities
A sense of urgency for task completion and customer satisfaction are a must
