Role: Service Now Discovery Analyst
Location: Chicago, IL
Type: Full-Time (Permanent)

Position Summary:
The Discovery Analyst is responsible for executing the Discovery process to discover assets. The Discovery Analyst is responsible for managing the day-to-day administrative support, operation and maintenance of the Discovery process in the ServiceNow platform. The Analyst will report into the Configuration Management Database Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Executes the Enterprise Discovery policy and process in adherence with global and local requirements resulting in the provision of stable and reliable IT Services
2. Responsible for administering ServiceNow Discovery tool on a day to day basis
3. Work with security, network, and other infrastructure team members to obtain required credentials to access discoverable IT assets
4. Perform ongoing tuning of the Discovery scans
5. Continually expands the solution to discover new CIs, new data centers, new CI classes
6. Reviews the data being populated into the CMDB by Discovery and ensures it is accurate
7. Proactively validates the discovered data for completeness and accuracy to ensure the quality of the CMDB
8. Maintains the integrity of the Discovery tool across production and non-production environments
9. Provides escalated support for the Discovery module
10. Responsible for troubleshooting patch /release management issues, and upgrades to the Discovery module
11. Identifies opportunities to improve the Discovery module
12. Implements and maintains the technology solution for Configuration Management process / CMDB automation, including asset tracking and management reporting
13. Coordinates with other Process Analysts and stakeholders to implement requirements from IT and business partners ensuring processes are simple, repeatable, measurable, and achievable
14. Continuously analyzes process data and drives opportunities to improve the process or execution of the process
15. Works with external partners and third party suppliers whenever necessary to support the Process

Secondary Skills:
1. Good understanding of Incident, Asset, Problem and Change Management (ITIL
2. WebSphere MB, MQ , Portal and ESB.
