JOB TITLE: Server Admin
LOCATION: Houston TX
Contract: 1 Year
Need Only GC and US Citizens.
Job Description: Primary Job Functions:
Proactively and efficiently administer servers using enterprise toolsets such as SCCM, SCOM, etc.
Perform patch management via SCCM and ensure Windows servers have latest approved patches
Deployment and provisioning of virtual and physical Server OS, installation of base monitoring and support tools
Monitor health, performance, and optimization of Windows Server environment
Respond to work orders and resolve incident tickets
Effectively troubleshoot complex technical issues
Ensure server security and control compliance
Implement best operational practices for Windows Server environment, and automate where applicable
Participate in rotational on-call duties to provide after-hours support
Follow policies and procedures for change, incident, and problem management
Job Requirements:
B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree/work experience
3+ years working knowledge in Windows server enterprise environment
3+ years working knowledge with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
Working knowledge with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
Working knowledge with VMware 6x (vCenter, vSphere)
Proficiency with Windows Active Directory services
Ability to create and/or modify scripts (batch, PowerShell)
Understanding of basic network concepts (LACP, VLAN tagging, routing, QoS)
Understanding of basic storage concepts SAN,NAS (CIFS and NFS)
Be able to effectively communicate with team members and customers
Possesses excellent project management and organizational competencies
Must have strong customer service mindset
Proven ability to manage short deadlines, emergency situations and changing priorities
Candidate must be local to Houston area and able to travel to Fort Worth for onboarding/training.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Working knowledge with BMC Remedy ITSM a plus
