Responsibilities:
The Voice Network Engineer primary responsibilities will be focused on :
Thorough understanding of VoIP principles in a converged environment
Good knowledge of H.323, SIP, QoS best practices, standards and policies
Need to work with industry leading Session Border Controllers (SBCs)
Strong troubleshooting abilities (including packet traces, utilizing various monitoring tools and other SIP specific troubleshooting tools) like WIRESHARK
Plan, acquire and coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the organization’s telecommunications network.
Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to make certain Telecommunications capacity meets existing and future requirements.
Develop and deploy methodologies for testing Telecommunications performance and providing Telecommunications performance statistics and reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelor''s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related discipline with solid academic credentials.
Minimum of 5 years of experience required.
Broad Experience in Network Operations and Technology.
Experience and/or certification in one or more areas:
Certifications:
Hands on technical experience (Routing, Switching)
Vendor experience: Cisco, Juniper, acme, sonus
Process experience: ITIL, Agile
Routing Protocols
IT Experience in a large corporation.
Large multi-function or multi-division IT projects
Experience Working for large Telecommunications company a plus
Experience supporting multi-data center converged (data, voice, video) networks
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Ability to travel up to 25-35% annually
Exposure to internal audit, compliance or other internal control functions (including automation used in these functions) is a plus, but not required.
