Under the general supervision of the Manager of IT Workplace Solutions (ITWS) for client, the Lead Operations Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end operations and support of Workplace Solutions systems. The infrastructure supports 5500 clients and 10K mailboxes across 3 group companies in North America; VMWare Horizon, Citrix XenApp, SCCM, Altiris, Group Policy, McAfee ePO, mobile device management, email archiving, eDiscovery and Skype for Business.

The technical working lead role supports a team of (6) Engineers and an architect to maximize systems availability and efficiency, and focuses on providing the best service to our IT end-users. The role is also required to collaborate with the global support organization, provide tier 3 support, and problem resolution in the Workplace Solutions Environment.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
Lead technical operations responsibilities for Workplace Solutions Systems
Act as the technical operations expert for ITWS systems and work closely with Architecture to bridge the gaps between Plan, Build and Run
Manage the EMC SourceOne Email Archive and eDiscovery environment
Work closely with other Workplace Solutions Engineers to manage the environment in accordance with best practices
Coordinate change management & planning among ITWS Team
Continually strive for innovation and automation in the ITWS environment
Lead vulnerability management efforts (identification, tracking, remediation, reporting)
Work with Manager, ITWS to develop and refine operational practices
Work with ITWS Team members to perform the following operational activities:
o Administration of VMWare Horizon Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
o Create and modify Virtual Desktop images/pools and provision new users
o Administration of Citrix XenApp environment
o Administration of the McAfee ePO environment
o Windows and Mac Enterprise deployment, configuration, and management
o Perform Client Management tasks using the Symantec Management Platform (Altiris) 7.5 and SCCM 2012 R2
o Group Policy administration
o Bulk Email Relays
o Create and modify custom scripts
o Testing new hardware, software and operating systems for integration
Providing recommendations to improve the overall stability of the workstation environment.
3rd Level technical support to resolve issues with client agents, software installations, etc.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to the needs of the systems being supported
Familiarity with a range of systems including Windows, VMware, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS
Knowledge of scripting as it applies to workstation management
Knowledge of computing and network hardware and peripheral equipment. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
Excellent troubleshooting, problem resolution and root cause analysis skills
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
Ability to learn and support new systems and applications
