ROLE: Senior Support Engineer
Location: Lake Mary, FL.

Must have
10+ years’ experience as a Java performance engineer. Experience with using heap/thread dumps to diagnose application issues.
10+ years creating and supporting applications utilizing J2ME/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, and Servlets, JDBC, Web Services for web-based applications
Nice to Have
Experience with development and support in a IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS), Jboss, tcserver, NodeJS, Tomcat, ESB, IBM WebSphere MQ environment, Rabitt MQ
Experience with profiling techniques, memory management and performance tuning
Experience developing and supporting SOAP and REST Web Services
Experience with Splunk, App Dynamics, TCP/IP troubleshooting, internet protocols (e.g.Telnet, SMTP, SNMP) in an application support environment.
Experience with Linux and the Amazon AWS platform
Understanding of DNS, Networking, LDAP, Firewalls, Load Balancers etc.
Experience on any scripting Language – Perl, python, Groovy
Experience with Oracle DB with SQL Query Experience.
Additional Operational skill
Knowledge of best practices for IT operations in an always-on, always-available service model
Proven track record of successfully supporting mission critical enterprise applications, taking ownership of incidents and problems, and driving them to resolution.
Experience leading delivery of managed IT services to enterprise customers, operating in an enterprise IT release management process and working in a fast paced DevOps environment
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle including application support.
Knowledge of ITIL support processes, ITSM tools, monitoring tools and other support related tools and processes.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or relevant experience and accomplishments. Excellent reasoning skills, good at conflict resolution and consensus building

Role/Responsibilities and Expectation:
24x7 On Call model to participate on all P1 and high P2s
Able to understand, analyze and provide recommendations for java core, thread and heap dumps.
Access code and perform code reviews for applications in L2 tier 1 and tier 2 scope following P1 / P2 issues and RCA problem records.
Work directly on monitoring optimization, tools development and automation
Work on exploring new technologies and bringing the lessons learned and share knowledge with L2 Ops team.
Analyze possible capacity related issues based on performance / changes / releases
Provide recommendations / analysis of why an alert was thrown / ended up in a bad state (e.g. hung threads), and see if the app team needs to open a story / problem to track any fixes
Work with performance team and app teams to resolve issues through permanent fix, recreate issues in load environment, work on tuning application performance, and eventually phase out the Performance Engineering Team from Production Ops Issues
Expectation is to work very closely with Performance Engineering team, Database Engineering Team, Global Quality Engineering Team, and Application Teams across all lower environments.
Proactively drive actions without management assistance
