Job Description:
The New Jersey Infrastructure Bank (I-BANK) is seeking a Software Engineer to assist in the development of an enterprise application for loan and fund administration for the New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Financing Program. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in developing the backend and frontend of the application. This position will work in collaboration with business and technology team members from both the NJ Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the I-BANK to create and develop the various program modules to assist in tracking, managing, and operating funds that are sourced from a number of different Federal, State and Private sources that are in turn, issued to a number of different recipients.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop functional modules and services integral to the enterprise application;
Work within a team environment to produce high quality code, and participate in team and client meetings as needed/requested;
Review code for accuracy and functionality;
Use expertise and knowledge of industry practices to design independent systems that can be used across multiple applications;
Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures; and implementing enhancements;
Support and assist in the development of team software engineers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities; and
Identify new technologies that could improve the performance and development of the enterprise application.
Required Skills:
5+ years of relevant programming experience
LAMP stack development experience
Complex MySQL Query and database schema design
Frontend development experience utilizing: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript
Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture
Experience with and ability to work in an Agile environment
Understanding of Object Oriented Design, MVC Architecture, Web Architecture
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Zend Framework
Experience with Amazon Web Services
Experience in Implementing continuous integration, delivery, and deployments
Experience with MEAN/ MERN stack
Experience developing RESTful APIs
