Essential Duties

Assistance with the preparation, consolidation, analytical review and delivery of the worldwide consolidated financial statements including preliminary and final results and analysis of the product line P&L and expenses.
Assist end users in troubleshooting system usage issues. Must be able to independently research/troubleshoot/resolve financial reporting and system related issues.
Create/update data input tools for end users.
Assist in the overall maintenance of the general ledger system, including setting up accounts, companies and maintaining other dimensions within the system.
Monitor and respond to Internal Reporting emails during and after standard work hours.
Complete Ad Hoc financial statement analysis as requested.
Support the SAP consultant in system related projects and the OneStream system team with testing and other tasks as necessary.
Description

The Senior Reporting Analyst of the Corporate Accounting unit in Stamford is an integral member of the Corporate Finance team within in the Controller’s group. Primarily responsible for supporting the preparation of worldwide consolidated financial statements as well as the development of various reports and analyses used by both the Corporate Accounting unit and by Division Finance units. You will also assist in the upkeep of key Finance systems, including access controls and table maintenance.

This position reports to the Corporate Assistant Controller (the “CAC”), and will work extensively with the CAC in the development and maintenance of key Corporate and Divisional reporting tools, as well as with the global consolidation tools and report utilized by the Company’s Canadian parent company. This position will also work extensively with Corporate accounting personnel and SAP business analysts in developing and maintaining a productive environment with enhanced reporting tools for ensuring more efficient analysis of financial data.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

5+ years accounting or related experience
Extensive experience with financial systems and reporting tools
Basic SQL knowledge to assist SAP consultant in research projects
Advanced Excel skills
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Excellent problem solving skills
Strong analytical, organizational and communication (both oral and written) skills
Ability to focus on and attend to detail
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to maintain poise and positive attitude when working through difficult issues with end users while managing competing deadlines
Experience & Education Requirements

B.B.A or B.S. in business with an emphasis in accounting
Minimum of five years of accounting / finance experience
Insurance or reinsurance industry preferred
