Senior Project Manager



Location: Atlanta, GA

Duration: 9-10 months with possible contract to hire



Business Initiative/Purpose:

Need senior project manager to run OCR (Optical Character Recognition) project in the Image & Capture space. Will be enhancing the initial OCR capability currently being stood up at the bank and driving implementation and usage of OCR for the Mortgage Correspondent team and prepare for onboarding other LOBs. OCR is a high profile initiative at the bank and being driven for cost saving and other operational efficiencies.

Initial/Primary Project Names:

Implement OCR capabilities for Mortgage Servicing and Correspondent LOB

Work is being done under Scrum Team in Agile environment. Team will consist of BA/Tech Leads/Developers/Testers



Must Have Skills:

- Requires excellent oral and written communication with teammates at all levels in the organization

- PMP Certification

- Bachelor’s degree & 8 years of experience as a project manager or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

- Must have 5+ years managing large complex projects exceeding $1M budget with multiple vendors and multiple LOB''s in large corporate setting with release management expertise in both Agile & Waterfall environments.

- Experience working with co-located and offshore teams with the ability to listen and support teams in problem identification and decision-making. Think strategically beyond day-to-day activities.



Plus/Nice to Have Skills:

Experience with OCR (Optical Character Recognition) or Image & Capture technologies is a plus - Filenet/OnPointe/Ilinx/eSig.



Preferred Requirements:

Master’s degree or MBA and 10 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Banking or financial services experience. Agile/Scrum and Six Sigma experience. Experience as an Agile practitioner on an Agile team in a large organization. Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe Experience with processes and tools supporting Agile methodologies. Solid background utilizing an Agile framework (e.g. Scrum, Extreme Programming, Kanban, SAFe) in software development. Experience in stakeholder relationship and team building. Expertise in Scrum including the value and principles, and how they are applied in enterprise environments. Familiarity with modern software engineering techniques such as Continuous integration, build, deliver, test-driven development and other automated acceptance testing techniques. Experience with processes and tools supporting Agile methodologies. Ability to understand technical issues, facilitation skills in planning and leading meetings, reviews and retrospectives. Ability to mentor and coach the team to reach their highest potential. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail. Shows initiative by anticipating risks, issues and opportunities, and escalating them accordingly. Articulate, persuasive, and comfortable interacting with all levels of people. Excellent listener, outstanding facilitation and conflict-resolutions skills, and the ability to work in collaborative environments. A predisposition to patience and tolerance. Comfortable and articulate in challenging change management scenarios, knowing when to insert self and when to fade back.

- Teammate should have a detailed knowledge of the application/infrastructure supported and business procedures, regulations, etc…



- Responsible for ensuring that the solution chosen accomplishes the business goal, that risks and business impacts are considered and that the solution recommended is viable and mitigates change impacts Span of Control (include # direct reports):

- Manages complex projects requiring the coordination of resources.

Decision-Making and Autonomy:

- Position receives guidance on unusual or highly complex issues.

- Considerable latitude & judgment.

- Participates in diagnosis of the problem and analysis of the solution options

- Responsible for ensuring that the recommended solution is technically viable, minimizes impacts to teammates and clients, addresses business risks and meets business needs.



Responsibilities:

Manages highly complex IT projects with significant associated risk. Depending on the role, may oversee multiple projects through the direct or indirect management of other team members. Defines project scope and objectives. Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables. Manages the integration of vendor activities and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables. Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team and other project managers. Provides review, oversight approval, and management of project tasks and dependencies. Influences and negotiates with senior management and vendors to ensure support for the project plan and resources. Reports the status of projects as they track against phase review objectives, schedule, budget and risk. Develops recommendations and implements improvements to established project management methodologies within client. May apply process improvement approaches (e.g., Agile, Six Sigma, etc to the project management approach. Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices. Uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions. Mentors less experienced teammates to build technical expertise.



A Bachelors Degree is required.
