Senior Programmer Analyst

The Senior Programmer Analyst serves as the primary individual responsible for the facilitation and extraction of information from various information systems within St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In this position you have an opportunity to work with a diverse Clinical Systems Engineering team developing and supporting clinical systems and applications to include Cerner Millennium, which constitutes our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. The desired candidate will have a high caliber of knowledge related to the Cerner Millennium data models and experience with the CCL programing language. This position will have responsibility for the development and support life cycles of such areas as clinical reports, data extractions, MPages, and clinical integrated ancillary applications/data warehousing. This role will require the ability to work with customers, clinical/technical analysts and management of which excellent communication skills will be necessary. This includes meeting with staff members/teams, assisting with/devising detail specifications, interpreting requests and assisting in prioritizations, providing technical advice/guidance, creating application/programming documentation & profiles, as well as utilizing a request and change management system (Service Now) to facilitate work within a multi-domain environment. As part of the collaborative team, you will be able to provide and obtain knowledge transfer and mentorship.

Minimum Experience

Minimum four years of progressive experience in systems analysis and computer programming is required.
Cerner Command Language [CCL]
JavaScript, HTML, Web Services technology, Mpages
Understanding of Cerner Millennium Data Models / Oracle Databases
Discern Visual Developer / Layout Builder
Discern Analytics DA2 / Explorer Menu Reports
Cerner PM Rules language (VBA / CCL)
Data facilitation/Integration and concepts such as:

FHIR (Fast Health Care Interoperability Resources)

SMART (Substitutable Medical Apps and Reusable Technology)

Data Extractions or ETL processes (Extract, Transform, Load)

Millennium Objects

Data Warehousing technologies such as:

SQL Server
Columnar
Cloud Services
Any exposure/experience with Dimensional Insight or Health Catalyst platforms

Linux Shell Scripting
NLP (Natural Language Processing), ML (Machine Learning)
Healthcare experience preferred.

Minimum Education

Bachelor Degree is required.
Computer-related specialty is preferred
