Job Description :
This is a full-time perm direct hire opportunity in Irving, TX
A successful candidate would reside in the Dallas, Texas area and possesses a minimum of 5 or more years of experience in purchasing and inventory planning . In addition, the candidate would have a thorough knowledge of planning and procurement techniques.
In addition to meeting and exceeding assigned objectives, the responsibilities of the position are:
Prepares monthly inventory plan utilizing forecast, purchase/inventory levels and shipping schedules from ODC.
Recommends, enters and tracks purchase orders for the procurement of product from ODCand third party factories.
Recommends and submits purchase requisitions for domestic procurement.
Analyzes and compares shipping schedules to open orders, communicates and reconciles all discrepancies with vendors and identifies product availability issues to Marketing, Sales, and SCM management.
Attends product team meetings and coordinates all SCM issues for new product introductions.
Controls all product phase-outs and end of life to minimize inventory exposure.
Maintains all new part numbers in SAP.
Coordinates and tracks all Engineering Change Requests to control and ensure utilization of inventory.
Monitors the production schedule to ensure timely availability of the product. Assist the Production Scheduler with schedule conflicts and constraints.
Prepares and distribute regular availability and constraint reports to marketing, sales, and SCM management.
Take a leadership position and to provide guidance on special SCM projects.
Act on behalf of supply Chain Manager in their absence.
EDUCATION:
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required.
EXPERIENCE:
5 years’ experience in purchasing and inventory planning environment.
Demonstrated ability to plan a variety of products of a complex nature.
Purchasing and inventory planning: 4 years
SAP: 2 years
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:
MRP and planning experience
Strong analytical abilities
Microsoft Office (Word / Excel), must be strong in Excel
SAP Experience
Excellent communication skills
Excellent analytical abilities and PC skills
CPIM certification a plus
