Job Title:Senior Network Engineer

Location:Wallingford, CT
Description:Assists in the development, design, implementation, test, and maintenance of Company solutions based on client’s business and technology needs. Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN/WLAN systems to help design and install all internal (Company) and external (customer) based networks. This position is responsible for delivering and supporting a solution that ensures client/partner satisfaction. Willingness to accept rotational on-call responsibilities is an essential component of the job.
REQUIRED SKILLS
(1) Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent years of experience, plus 10 years of experience designing, installing and supporting local and wide area network equipment.
(2) Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification required; CCIE certification strongly preferred. Certifications must be active. Cisco Routing and Switching, Wireless, and Security certifications desired. All other Cisco certifications a plus.
(3) ITIL experience strongly preferred.
(4) Advanced knowledge in a broad range of IT infrastructure technologies, including Active Directory, LDAP, Email Encryption, and NFS.
(5) Ability to configure, implement and support routers using various routing protocols, including RIP, BGP, EIGRP, and OSP.
(6) Ability to configure, implement and support Cisco based routers and switches, ASA firewalls with FirePOWER technology, IPsec VPNs, Wireless Access-Points, and Wireless LAN Controllers.
(7) Strong knowledge in Telco/WAN services such as Metro Ethernet, MPLS, DSL, Lit & Dark Fiber, and Cable Internet/Ethernet services.
(8) Strong installation and troubleshooting skills.
(9) Excellence in customer service and support.
(10) Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
(11) Strong project management and organizational skills.
(12) Ability to work in a fast and flexible environment, particularly on critical care and on-call duties.
(13) Ability to understand political landscape within client/partner organizations.
(14) Knowledge of ITSM best practices for Change and Release Management.
(15) Ability to train and provide direction to junior engineers
