Description:
Looking for a talented and experienced individual to lead electrical hardware development on complex aerospace and defense applications. This individual will work under the guidance of the Director of Engineering and in collaboration with other engineering and business departments.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, seven (7) or more years of electrical design experience within an aerospace or defense industry and be able to demonstrate:

Recent development of high-level architecture for high power control applications (>10 kW, >40A or 300VDC
Experience with aerospace or defense requirements and expectations.
Knowledge of motor control, servo drive, inverter or related systems.
Delivery of multiple electrical board designs per year.
Design of DSP, power, or EMI and other related electrical schematic designs.
Advanced knowledge of digital and analog electronics concepts.
Knowledge of IGBTs, MOSFETs, power drivers, current sensors and other electrical components.
Experience with ORCAD schematics tool.
A/D and D/A converters knowledge a plus.
Embedded, assembly, C+/C++ software code knowledge a plus.
Sensor-less feedback control knowledge a plus.
Military standards and program structure knowledge a plus.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
A hands-on, "get it done" attitude.
Strong communication and leadership ability.
Ability to work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines.
Creativity and self-motivation to solve unique and complex technical problems.
Ability to mentor entry-level engineers.
Knowledge of Microsoft products including Windows 7, Word, Excel, etc.
Excellent oral and written English skills.

Responsibilities:
Propose and design electrical architecture of high power controller applications for aerospace and defense applications.
Leverage accumulated technical knowledge to lead the technical approach and support design teams from proposal to program delivery.
Conduct research to support designs that use available, cost-effective and applicable components.
Perform product design and development activities with a high degree of independence and creativity.
Develop simulations to demonstrate design capability and requirement verification.
Troubleshoot and provide detailed documentation of root cause issues during unit integration and testing.
Support mechanical engineering to deliver practical hardware packaging and board layout solutions.
Collaborate with other engineering functions to optimize overall system performance.
Adhere to and recommend improvements to company practices, policies and methodologies.
Generate aerospace grade engineering documentation including specification, schematic, layout, BOM, acceptance test procedure, root cause analysis and qualification test report documentation.
Create and review product information including manuals and datasheets for accuracy.
Support system engineering and program management with design schedule and cost information, requirement verification, analysis and participate in program design reviews.
Discuss program requirements and related engineering information with clients.
Travel occasionally to clients site, vendor location or military base for meetings, reviews or support (5% per year
Lead and mentor other team members.
