The opportunity:
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will help lead the Technology Development
team in development lifecycle automation. You will work with the
development teams to bring state of the art continuous integration and
continuous deployment practices to existing development practices. Your
effort will help accelerate internal report development as well as create a
new suite of Big Data capabilities for manufacturing analytics.
How you will impact WestRock:
* Establish best practices in continuous integration and continuous
deployment among a variety of internal software solutions.
* Help build and foster an open standards approach to the development
lifecycle.
* Assist in designing container based architectures for the transition
of reporting and manufacturing analytics to cloud based deployments.
* Promote strong quality control practices through continuous
integration and continuous deployment implementations.
* Work with remote teams to deliver complex and cutting-edge software
solutions for a growing business.
What you need to succeed:
* Education: Bachelor''s Degree in Computer Science, or similar
* At least 6 years of strong software engineering experience
* At least 3 years of experience with deployment of enterprise scale
software systems, both on premises and in the cloud.
* Practical experience in the following areas:
* Package Management tools: rpm, pip, npm, and/or chocolatey, etc.
* Container build and orchestration: Kubernetes and/or Docker Swarm
* Build Servers and Tools: Jenkins and/or Microsoft Team Services
* Dependency Management tools: Maven, chocolatey, Artifactory a plus
* Configuration Management tools: Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
* Big Data technologies: Hadoop and Spark
* Cloud platform services: Azure or AWS
* Semantic Versioning and Git based source control
