Position : Senior Database Developer- Sybase
Location : Herndon, VA

Client is seeking a Senior Database Developer to write/augment complex SQL queries within Sybase 16 and Oracle 11g/12c databases and be able to create stored procedures, table triggers and other database objects in Sybase & Oracle. Should be able to create physical and logical database design documents. Should also be able to create new or troubleshoot existing batch jobs and test them from command line. Should be very good analytically to quickly troubleshoot and fix database issues. Should be fully familiar with SDLC.
EDUCATION AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Educational requirements include at least a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, information technology or a related discipline
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Five (5) or more years of Oracle development experience
Four (4) or more years of Sybase development experience
Experience with SQL Optimization, Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, Table Triggers
Experience with Batch Jobs, FTP process, BCP
Experience with Serena Dimensions CM tool a plus
Knowledge of complete SDLC
Excellent oral and written communication skills
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create Sybase & Oracle database scripts after analyzing the issue.
Troubleshoot issues with the existing batch jobs
Implement, maintain and document software packages as needed.
Update and create ER Diagrams as needed.
Create and test database build scripts.
Perform quality assurance activities against database code.
Support the database needs of development application support team
Optimize database scripts by identifying potential latency issues and rectifying them.
Monitor database systems and proactively address issues as they arise.
Responsible for performance tuning
Design, Code, and Test database batch jobs
