Individual contributor that is fully proficient in applying established standards; knowledge based acquired from several years of experience in particular area. Works independently; may instruct or coach other professionals. Responsible for leading the design and support of enterprise wide business intelligence applications and architecture. Works with enterprise wide business and IT senior management to understand and prioritize data and information requirements. Solves complex technical problems. Optimizes the performance of enterprise business intelligence tools by defining data to filter and index that add value to the user. Creates testing methodology and criteria. Designs and coordinates a curriculum for coaching and training customers in the use of business intelligence tools to enhance business decision-making capability. Develops standards, policies and procedures for the form, structure and attributes of the business intelligence tools and systems. Develops data/information quality metrics. Researches new technology and develops business cases to support enterprise wide business intelligence solutions.

Conduct Business Intelligence mapping discussions, configure solutions, guide system and integration testing, and manage implemented solutions
Function as a liaison between IT, holdings companies and functional areas, maintaining effective management of these essential relationships
Assist in leading the design, implementation and utilization of measurement tools to evaluate business process effectiveness
Facilitate reporting and report development using RDLC to aid problem solving and data analysis utilizing intelligent tools.
Proactively identify processes that would benefit from system automation to improve Business Intelligence team effectiveness and increase operating efficiencies
Develop strategies, schedules and work assignments to ensure that projects meet time and budget goals
Create comprehensive training programs and documents with the goal of creating effective end users for all Business Intelligence tools
Serve on the Business Intelligence steering committee in a leadership role
Eliminate data silos and bridge gaps between holdings companies using effective data models that enable cross functional and rolled-up holdings level reporting
Participates on various cross functional project teams, following SDLC methodology and agile development to ensure business governance and acceptance of technical interpretation of requirements – this includes understanding the sensitivity of confidential information and its distribution
Provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures
Ensure creation of quality design documentations of all BI initiatives to departmental, corporate and industry standards
Effectively provide guidance to team members as their lead, helping to establish goals, overseeing projects and aiding in professional development
Research and test new technology solutions, vet architectural changes that would have to occur to support enterprise adoption, and determine impacts
Manage user security for new and existing Business Intelligence tools in compliance with all audit requirements

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred (Management Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative subject a plus); or five to seven years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5-10 years’ experience with complex/technical report design and implementation with working knowledge of variable syntax construction for various aggregation strategies, and an understanding of when a data cube will require an alternate aggregation approach.
5-10 years’ experience working with various DW, BI, or ERP software packages (Tableau, SAP Business Objects, SAS Business Intelligence, Cognos, SAP, Data Stage, Informatica, Oracle, JDE, QAD, etc
Complex relational database development, maintenance, and exception testing experience required (MS Access, Data Warehouse, Oracle, or other)
Experience with data modeling strategies and related technical documentation, understanding of universe structure types and corresponding functionality, ability to design, execute, and document test scenarios.
Advanced user in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint & Visio; must have expert functional knowledge of Excel and Access
Candidate will understand SDLC/RDLC/DCLC, waterfall, and agile methodologies and practical application when managing or participating in any project, enhancements to database or system configuration, or fulfilling a request for data/reporting.
Ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and ensure follow-through on committed deliverables.
Strong analytical, logic, and problem solving skills required.
Candidate will demonstrate a wide degree of creativity and initiative in problem solving, as well as a drive to streamline/automate/improve and innovate.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to concisely convey analytical interpretation and/or data issues to affected members of departments.
