BUSINESS INFORMATION ANALYST
Location is Lansing MI
12 months Contract
Phone and in-person
Must have insurance and Agile experience have worked on a Scrum Team.
JOB SUMMARY
To support day-to- day requests for assistance from ISS and business user
areas, evaluate requests for new or changed functionality, develop
alternatives, gather requirements from the business user, write user
stories, obtain approvals from the business user, perform testing as needed
and support the implementation of system functions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Works with other team members to analyze system problems and assists
with determining root causes. Works with Team Members to initiate corrective
action.
* Transforms requirements into concise user stories with clear
acceptance criteria that are testable and written from the business user
point of view.
* Collaborate with the business user, and other team members, to
refine and ultimately gain formal approval of the acceptance criteria.
* Works with testers to create and maintain test plans, test cases,
test scripts and executes system tests using standard testing procedures and
guidelines, as well as evaluates and documents test coverage, results and
effectiveness.
* Coordinates training and provides technical support to the end user.
* The ability to query data and alter column values. Moderate
understanding of database structures and impacts from changes to data when
altered using various software tools.
* Drafts business workflow documents, application workflow documents,
new application processes, and helps to maintain all existing application
documentation. Also assists junior team members in reviewing their
documentation in order to check for accuracy.
* Track Product Owner satisfaction with ISS and assist in resolving
Business satisfaction issues.
* Learns what duties each Business Unit performs at Delta Dental as
well as support the various business units during UAT testing.
* Maintains technical/professional knowledge by continued training and
reading industry publications in order to continue to support the Business.
* Experience in an Agile work environment and actively participates in
all agile team ceremonies and meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Position requires a bachelor''s degree with relevant coursework in
computer science or data processing and five years''; related work experience
in business application systems design, testing, and writing related
documentation and procedures. Will accept any suitable combination of
education, training, or experience.
* Position requires a proficient knowledge of the technical
environment including experience working with Web Applications, Databases,
and SQL; ability to analyze and resolve problems quickly; use independent
judgment, is a team player, proactive, honor time commitments, and
communicate effectively with internal and external contacts.
