Job Description :
Position title: Security Engineer/Nessus Vulnerability Engineer
Location: Washington, DC
Duration: 6 Months+
Local candidates to VA/DC area
Phone interview followed by in-person interview

Tasks:
: Finalize any remaining necessary installations of Nessus Security Center components.
: Work with internal stakeholders to build additional environments, or install any remaining pieces required for full functionality of the tool.
: Implement and configure remaining modules and components of Tenable Nessus Security Center, to include the secure configuration scanning.
: Collaborate with developers and environment owners across the organization to implement secure configuration standards.
: Conduct operational vulnerability testing of assigned assets. Identify the vulnerabilities that give malicious actors access to important content or systems.

Required Qualifications:
Must possess an extensive knowledge of vulnerability management, information security concepts, network, system, and vulnerability exploitation techniques and security system defense concepts. Should have a demonstrated ability to work effectively with Information Security tools in a large, complex, multi-platform environment.

Expertise in secure configurations for hardware and software, vulnerability scanning, remediation, and IT security principals in general. Must know how to find and exploit a vulnerability as well as preventative practices, especially in multi-platform environment.
