Location – Fort Worth, TX
Duration – 6 -12 months

This person has to live in Tarrant County (not Dallas)

a. Must communicate out and up on business objectives to mgrs. Directors etc. – talk of the value to the business. Why we do features etc. i.e. they must be a good communicator
b. Looking for someone with polish and experienced with best practices
Scrum Master - Operations
This position is responsible for implementing, facilitating and enabling the Scrum process at the team level for a key BNSF initiative project supporting Operations. The Scrum Master should be a servant-leader who ensures adherence to standard Scrum practices in order to continually improve the team’s performance. The Scrum Master also supports the Product Owner with:
· Writing and estimating User Stories
· Prioritizing User Stories at the appropriate time
· Refining the team’s work capacity
· Providing transparency to the work and project status

Essential Functions
The Scrum Master has the following responsibilities:
· Ensure Scrum process, rules and ceremonies are properly applied by leading, facilitating and supporting:
o Daily stand-up meetings
o Sprint Planning
o Sprint Retrospectives
o Sprint Demos
o Scrum of Scrum meetings
o Release Planning Events (as needed)
· Coach the team to:
o Become a self-governing high-performance team
o Collaborate and effectively manage work
o Resolve issues and conflict
· Assisting the Product Owner with:
o Maintaining and prioritizing the Product Backlog
o Writing and breaking down User Stories
· Working with Technology Services leadership to help facilitate:
o Planning Events
o Scrum of Scrums (as needed)
o Project governance
o System Demos
o Team status reports
o Stakeholder management and organizational change management
Collaborating with and escalate as required to the TS Application Development manager
Remove any impediments to the team’s progress
Create and maintain work visibility (Kanban/Scrum boards, Agile tools, charts, etc
Gather and maintain team metrics

Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience.
At least one Agile methodology certification such as
o SAFe SA (Certified Scaled Agile Framework Agilist)
o PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
o CSM (Certified Scrum Master)
o PSM (Professional Scrum Master)
Formal facilitation training or mentoring under a Scrum Coach
More than two years managing projects and/or programs using an Agile Scrum project management methodology
Experience managing stakeholders
Experience coordinating or serving on multi-team projects, and working in cross-functional teams or environments
Experience in business and solution development, project/program management, and project delivery
Excellent understanding of the system development life cycle
Ability to interact effectively with various levels within the organization
Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Working knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Master’s Degree from an accredited college/university (MBA, Information Systems or Computer Science)
Experience with VersionOne and Planview project management tools
Transportation industry experience
