Description:
The scientist is responsible for designing lentiviral DNA construct and carrying out small- to mid-scale viral-vector productions, concentration and quantification.
The scientist is expected to learn methods in the laboratory quickly and propose/implement creative solutions that are beneficial to the group.
Track records of establishing cutting edge technologies in a respective area where the candidate’s expertise is.
Plasmid DNA prep & DNA sequencing outsourcing. Maintain cell culture. Design, execute, & analysis of data of assigned experiments. Communicate with collaborators, peers, manager with experimental data. Document work in electronic notebook.

Requirements:
Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree & 5 years of scientific experience OR Bachelor’s degree & 7 years of scientific experience.
Hands on experience on lentiviral vector production & concentration. Experience on designing lentiviral DNA construct. Design, execute and data analysis of assigned tasks. Problem solving capability and understanding literature. PhD is preferred.
The qualified candidate should have extensive expertise in virology, especially retrovirus and lentivirus, and lentiviral vector technology.
Strong knowledge of retrovirus / retroviral, lentiviral vector, applications of viral vectors, Virology.
The scientist should be proficient in relevant analytical methods to examine gene and protein expression using FACS, Immunoblot, and etc.
The candidate should be an independent scientist with strong molecular biology skills, have demonstrated ability to solve difficult technical problems, and be able to work in cross-functional teams.
Good understanding of the viral vector for gene therapy applications and of viral vector production processes.
Demonstrated strong skills in molecular and basic cell biology.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work in team environment.
