Sales Support Specialist

Client is looking for an experienced “Sales Support Specialist” who will be responsible for providing support during the sales process. They will help customers resolve sales-related issues in a timely manner, generally providing real-time support.

The Sales Support Specialist will also escalate issues as necessary to supervisors or other department within our organization. They will update records for customer interactions, assist with non-standard requests such as legacy customer support, and provide solutions across platforms for products or services. One of the main responsibilities include tracking sales orders and aiding with shipping issues.

A high school diploma is necessary for this job. In addition, previous experience in a sales-
related capacity is preferred. They must work well with other members of the sales team, but also perform efficiently by themselves. At all times, they should conduct themselves professionally as a liaison between their organization and external customers. The Sales Support Specialist must be highly organized and able to multitask on several projects at a time.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Provides clerical support to Sales Department.
Follow-up with calls to prospective clients to provide additional product/services
information.
Acts as liaison between outside sales and customers by keeping in contact with
prospective clients throughout the sale.
Provide proactive account and order management to ensure that sales team and customer relationship needs and business requirements are met.
Ensure pricing accuracy on all transactions, resolve all pricing discrepancies.
Participate in clear and frequent communication with sales team and internal teammates, work cross-functionally with other departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Understand the needs and expectations of the customers and provide relevant solutions.
Promote customer satisfaction through open communication and relationship building.

Respond to customer inquiries in a prompt, accurate and sincere manner.
Follow up on all quotes (over the minimum amount determined by management) in a
timely and effective manner with the goal of getting orders.
Answer a high volume of in-bound calls and email inquiries daily.
Develop new accounts from prospect to customer by establishing and nurturing interest in company products.
Maintain relationships with existing accounts by proactively calling to anticipate their
needs.
Translate the customers’ needs to the quoting specialist so that winning quotations can be produced.
Interact with departments that are involved in the sales process to close sales, relay
competitive information or to support customer needs.

Maintain an organized, up to date quote record.
Administer Customer Master Files to keep information up to date with customer
preferences and technical documents.
Actively participate in, daily situational, weekly sales meetings with the sales team; and, monthly one-on- one progress report meetings with the department manager.
Continually expand ones knowledge about company products, interpersonal growth and job skills.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Requirements:

Experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) ex. SAP
Ability to fill the role of consultative salesperson and become a trusted advisor to company customers.
Must be willing to make initial contact with a prospect.
Must be highly accountable to commitments made to internal and external customers.
Strong oral and written communication; good spelling, grammar and attention to
accuracy

High level of professionalism and a consistent, reliable work ethic
Exceptional computer skills including: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, Internet.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and perform well under pressure.
Self-motivated with the ability to work within a team and independently
Sense of urgency and ability to meet tight deadlines on a daily basis
An attention to detail and a drive to reach/exceed sales goal targets
