Position: Sales Engineer
Location: Prefer Charlotte, NC / Miami, FL / New York, NY / Chicago IL
Travel: Ability to travel 50-60% in the US assigned territory & 1 trip per year to Japan.

Responsibilities
Increase sales volume with both new and existing HAL distributors/resellers by collaborating on sales strategies to promote the sale of Marking and Coding products focused on achieving HAL M&C budget.
New Distributor Development: Identify, recruit and train distributors to provide improved and complete geographic coverage within assigned territory as directed by the management.
Provide support to distributors in connecting our products to customers’ networks.
Participate in and contribute to programs and/or activities as assigned by management.
Distributor Staff Development: Assist distributor/reseller personnel with presentations at existing and potential new customer sites. Develop specifications and proposals to assist as required. Strengthen distributor personnel sales and application skills through continued coaching and formal product and sales training along with staff succession plans.
Forecasting: Actively participate in the development of sales forecasts with distributors as an aid to sales operations staff in planning forward stocking levels. Manage rolling business plan with M&C Distributors with input to Management for overall business plan completion.
Market Intelligence: Provide information to the Product Management team: customer value, competitive activities, regional market trend, and competitive comparisons.
Performance Communication: Assist Manager to assess and communicate our business, product and territorial sales performance. Submit special reports regarding the activity in assigned territory, acceptance or rejection of the products and competitive conditions beneficial to company operations and planning.
Ensure the accuracy of the monthly reporting from each distributor. Analyze and provide support to distributor’s sales person to win the project.
Product/Service Development: Obtain and Convey Voice of the Channel providing specific input to Product Specialist and Sr. Service Specialist for both Japan-Side and HAL Consideration and development.
Trade Shows/Expositions: Make suggestions to the Product Management team regarding Trade Shows that will be essential to support business in the assigned regions.

Required:
BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical) or relevant Industry experience.
Five or more years of experience selling Continuous Inkjet Printer and/or Laser Marker Products to End Customers is preferable. Experience with selling capital equipment is mandatory.
Have a solid understanding of local area networking and systems concepts including standards, topologies, protocols, and equipment.
Five or more years of experience with Distributor Management and Development.
Application knowledge of Continuous Inkjet Printer and Laser Marker products is preferable; knowledge of other packaging machinery or Marking & Coding products is mandatory.
Excellent familiarity of the ‘America’s’ marketplace as related to M&C Industry is preferable.
