Job Description :
Role: SQL Server Developer
Location: Chicago, IL 60606
Duration: 6+ Months
Evaluate, design, code, optimize, and modify Microsoft SQL databases and database applications. Model databases and develop tables, stored procedures, views, triggers, and other database objects.
Tune databases for optimum performance.
Work closely with other developers to integrate databases with other applications. May involve interface development to access database.
May involve a limited amount of database administration.
Career-Development position within field.
Requires moderate skill sets and developing proficiency within discipline.
Conducts tasks and assignments as directed. Works under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.
Typically requires four to five years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Preferred Experience:
Expertise in database structure design and database administration
Proficient in complex query analysis and tuning
Strong experience creating and maintaining Views, Stored Procedures and System Functions in MS SQL Server (mix of 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016)
Experience supporting SSRS and SSIS
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity, performance, blocking and deadlocking, replication, log shipping, connectivity and security challenges
Strong knowledge of backups, restores and recovery models
Experience with implementing SQL Server Always On availability groups
Experience managing database roles, users and permissions
