Job Description :
TRN Systems inc is looking for a the developer to convert existing VSAM databases to MS SQL server databases. as part of the State’s Unemployment Insurance Systems modernization in Vermont.
Primary/Mandatory Experience and Proficiency
The candidate must have experience and proficiency in the following areas:
Microsoft SQL Server database design and development
Stored Procedure design and development
Serving in a Lead role responsible for converting data for large systems
Enterprise Application Development
Experience with Agile, rapid or iterative development environments
Setting up data for testing and coordinating user acceptance testing with client user staff
Performing unit testing as part of a team and as an individual
Coordinating development/testing efforts with clients
Communicating effectively and keeping Management informed with regular status reports
Managing time effectively
Raising and effectively resolving issues
Working with client staff in a professional manner
Collaborating with other developer team members on best practices, code reviews, and process improvements
Technical and code documentation

Other Desired Experience and Proficiency
.NET development: ASP.NET framework, C#, HTML/DHTML/XHTML, JavaScript, JQuery, SQL, ORACLE DBMS, XML, XSL,DTD/XSD, SOAP, AJAX, VB.NET,ADO.NET.
Designing, building, installing and supporting interfaces and application API’s
Reviewing detailed requirements and translating these requirements into .NET code
Reviewing existing COBOL and/or .NET applications, understanding the software, and converting/modifying that software with new requirements
SOA information sharing environments - using modern Web Service tools, technologies, standards, and specifications
Expanding functionality through database modifications

Desired Qualifications
Experience with COBOL
Experience working in a State Government environment
Knowledge of Unemployment Insurance business functions

Job Location/Travel
Job is located in Montpelier, Vermont - Very little or no travel is required
