Description:
The ideal candidate possesses strong technical and analytical skills, can quickly learn and understand complex data models, can interface with other developers and business analysts to understand needs and requirements and can apply this knowledge to the development process. The candidate needs strong problem diagnosis and root cause analysis skills to trace data issues through the application stack and develop appropriate short and long-term fixes.
The firm’s systems are built entirely using Microsoft technologies primarily with SQL Server 2008/2014/2016, C#/.NET v4.5 SP1 and Visual Studio 2013/2015. Our development process heavily leverages Team Foundation Server 2012 and MS Build scripts to control version and manage technical issues. The candidate is expected to be well versed in the technologies and processes of a Microsoft dev shop.
The successful candidate will work with members of the development team, testing team, database team, and business analysts daily.
Responsibilities:
Delivery of completed work in a timely and with high quality.
Designing and developing solutions based upon assigned tasks.
Participation in daily stand-up meetings and sprint-oriented planning and retrospective meetings.
Receive and provide code reviews amongst peers.
Participation in “brown bag” sessions covering relevant technologies as they are applied or could be applied.
Required Qualifications:
Expert qualification in T-SQL statement, procedure, function development for creating, updating, and reporting on relational/transactional data structures (at least 8 years)
They should have strong T-SQL skills and tuning ability
Relational database analysis and design (at least 8 years)
Experience writing code in Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0+, any ORM preferably Entity Framework
Should have a track record of creating database objects not in just recent times, but over many years
Development and source code management experience with Visual Studio 2013 and Team Foundation Server 2013.
Experience working in both Agile Scrum and Waterfall development environments
Will require working with DB Team, App dev, data scientists and other members of IS.
Must be able to manage own time to deliver the highest value of work in a given period.
Must possess pride of ownership in work delivered.
Must be a motivated self-starter.
Must possess strong communication skills.
Methodical and structured approach.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with SQL/NoSQL systems such as MongoDB, Cassandra or Redshift.
Experience working on reporting and Analytics platform
Understanding of concepts of Big Data like Data Lake, data marts etc.
