Job Description :
Role: SQL Developer
Location: Nashville, TN (Just north of Downtown)
Length: 6 month contract
SQL Developer Requirements and Responsibilities:
Must be ok with working for a tobacco company
Strong documentation skills (30-40% of role will be developing technical documentation of what is to be coded and updating after code is complete)
Technical design documentation includes the following:
If code is going to consume XML what is the structure of XML, data formats of various files?
How is that XML parsed?
If it is returning data back to something else what is the format and context and structure of that data?
Technical details of what is being done within the element of code you are designing
Interaction with other elements of the system or 3rd party components; what do those interactions look like whether its XML, JSON, text files, etc
What are the security roles required for that code piece?
Be able to articulate within that documentation how hand offs are occurring between UI and database layer, who’s doing what, what the expectations are. For example, where does database developer stop and what the UI layer is going to do.
Document so that from an ongoing support stand point or IT support can understand the documentation on what the code is supposed to be doing.
T-SQL / stored procedure development
Experience in database development in business application systems
Experience with data mapping using stored procedures (not ETL tools)
