Role :: SQL DBA with Azure Experience
Location :: Alpharetta,GA
Type of hire :: Contract
Job duties and Responsibilities:
Installation, configuration and upgrading of Microsoft SQL Server software and related products.
Establish and maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures.
Ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the business’s Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)
Test backups to ensure we can meet the business’ Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)
Take care of the Database design and implementation.
Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges
Setup High-Availability like Failover cluster, AlwaysOn, Replication as part Disaster Recovery Strategy for the Databases
Handling FileStream and Filetables feature in SQL Server.
Database tuning and performance monitoring.
When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes
Application tuning and performance monitoring.
Setup and maintain documentation and standards.
Plan growth and changes (capacity planning
Work as part of a team and provide supports when required.
Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends
Do general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams.
Interface with Microsoft for technical support.
Deploy database change scripts provided by development team
Troubleshoot various problems that arise in a day-to-day work and fix the issues
Effectively coordinate and communicate with all the stakeholders (internal teams and Clients)
Create PowerShell scripts for Automating the SQL Administration.
Technical Expertise in Microsoft Azure Cloud computing.
