Description:
Responsibilities
Optimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources
for optimum configuration, database performance and cost
Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage,
maintenance, access and security administration
Assists in setting department policies and strategies on data management
issues
Assists with performing backup and recovery on Database Management
Systems
Configures database parameters and prototype designs against logical
data models
Defines data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing
requirements
Supports multiple services and multiple databases of medium to high
complexity with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity
and accessibility of data
Works on multiple projects as a project leader or sometimes as a project
advisor
Assists with the development of enterprise-wide multi-disciplinary
architectural documents translating business data requirements into
topographical format
Assists with the development of business cases for enterprise-wide data
management initiatives as a direct response to business drivers
Assists with the development of strategies, policy and standards for
corporate data management and contributes to standard working groups
Musts
Experience with SQL and TSQL as a SQL Developer
BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or
equivalent work experience
Demonstrates broad understanding of multiple DBMS
Demonstrates broad-based knowledge of information technology (eg.
programming, data management, platforms)
Demonstrates working knowledge of creating standards and procedures for
implementing new database technology
