Job Title: SQL DBA

Duration: 6+ months CTH (Only US Citizen, Green Card Holder and EAD GC)

Location: Chicago IL (Need Local Candidates who can go for In Person Interview)

General Job Description:
The Database Administrator plays a major role in the design, installation, creation, documentation, and enhancement of databases and the associated applications. This position requires a service oriented perspective and sense of personal ownership with the problems and requests that come into the department. An acute focus on managing and resolving issues and providing solutions that alignment with the SLAs.
The ability of establishing and maintaining communication with technology customers and keeping them apprised of the status of their requests, initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating issues that cannot be resolved within the expected time-frames is a major part of this important role.
Technical Skills Required:
Minimum of 7 years of experience with Database Administration for MS/SQL Server.
Minimum of 7 years of experience troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
Minimum of 7 years of experience performing Database Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Knowledge of 3rd party DBA tools and applications
Knowledge in a scripting language like PowerShell
Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics.
Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations.
Experienced executing backups, restores and providing recovery models.
Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server.
Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts
Other required Skills:
Good communication and documentation skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)
Demonstrated experience working well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in high-pressure situations and complex environments
Must be good team player
Technically enthusiastic and willing to learn attitude is required
Ability to work unsupervised in a multi-task environment
Influencing and negotiation skills
Problem solving- Service oriented
Work Hours:
Able to provide usual day to day 8 hr. shift and available for 7x24 support as needed
Able and willing to be flexible in adapting to new technologies, processes and standards
Education/Certifications:
Degree in Computer Science or commensurate experience
Certification MCTS, MCITP, MVP (a plus)
