Description: Responsibilities
Deploy database schema changes including stored procedures, tables, views, functions, users and user permissions required by custom developed applications.
Installation, configuration, customization, maintenance and performance tuning of SQL Server 2008, 2012 and 2014 including SSIS, SSAS and SSRS.
SQL version migration, patching and security management.
Monitor database server capacity/performance and make infrastructure and architecture recommendations to management for necessary changes/updates.
Perform database optimization, administration and maintenance (partitioning tables, partitioning indexes, indexing, normalization, synchronization, job monitoring, etc
Support database operations including implementation of database monitoring tools, event monitoring, diagnostic analysis, performance optimization routines and top-tier support for resolving support issues.
Follow database change management standards for code deployments, server patching and routine maintenance.
Maintain and support multiple environments including UAT, Demo and Pre Production and Production.
Provide support to troubleshoot day-to-day database or related application issues.
Support processes for system monitoring, storage management, backup and recovery.
Perform performance monitoring, application trouble shooting implement necessary changes for SQL Server Database including query tuning, server tuning, storage monitoring, memory pressure, and CPU utilization.
Work Experience/Skills Required:
2 to 3 years of SQL Server administration experience
3 to 4 years of T-SQL programming experience
Familiarity to SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014 component services (e.g. SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
Experience with SQL Server High Availability and disaster recovery procedures
Thorough understanding of backup/restore procedures and best practices
Knowledge of the Microsoft SQL Server best practices
Knowledge of the SQL Server Storage design
Experience with computer hardware including Servers, Network, SAN technologies, I/O subsystems, and virtual machine applications.
Experience with Windows Server 2008, 2012 Operating Systems
Good communication skills, strong Teamwork and organization skills
Problem solving skills and self-initiative
System administration fundamentals including Installation, Configuration & Security setups.
Remain current with latest technologies and industry best practices associated to the position and responsibilities.
