The SDN/NFV Network Engineer is an on-site liaison between Nokia and the customer for SDN/NFV network engineering support. The ideal candidate must have strong networking knowledge in IP routing, MPLS, VPLS, L2/L3 VPNs and QoS as well as a deep background working with and in Software Defined Networks.
Daily Responsibilities:
Act as the SME on technical discussions, interpret customer’s needs, and drive problem resolution when necessary into the appropriate support organization.
Using product knowledge, generate workarounds to satisfy customer requests, identifies product anomalies for correction by R&D.
Work directly with the sales team to drive additional sales into the organization
Required Skills:
7+ years experience in a Network Engineering role
3+ years experience working in a Software Defined Network
Strong understanding of SDN/virtualization concepts.
Hands on product knowledge of Nokia 7750SR and 5620SAM is must required.
Hands on experience with cloud computing platforms (i.e., VMware, Openstack, Container
Hands on experience with installation of hypervisors (i.e., KVM, ESXi, Hyper-V
Strong knowledge of virtualized networking (i.e., EVPN, VxLAN, Vswitch), and deployment of HA firewalls, HA load balancing.
Hands-on knowledge of Linux operating systems.
Knowledge of scripting languages (i.e., Perl, Bash, XML
Education: Bachelors degree required
