About You
You are an experienced software engineer with some amount of experience in programming languages like Node.js and C#, but your passion is for ETL processes and database technologies, and you can write SQL in your sleep. You’ve built scalable, maintainable data pipelines using compiled languages and tools like Kafka, Storm, Spark Streaming, or AWS Kinesis. You’re excited by the technical challenge of constructing a customer-facing data warehouse in the cloud, and you’re interested in mentoring teammates on this initiative. You know how to predict and prevent all the performance bottlenecks and failure modes that can topple a data stack in the middle of the night. You enjoy and value diverse and social teams, appreciate that we are more than the sum of our parts, and are open to solving a range of technical challenges in an Agile culture. At the end of the day, you are excited about delivering business value to customers.
About the Job
Although every engineer has specialties and strengths, all our engineers occasionally work in different areas of the stack to help us push the envelope on some challenging initiatives. As part of a small, vertically oriented Agile team, you’ll be a key contributor to solving a broad range of engineering challenges - starting with providing customers with a data platform to support their business intelligence, visualization, and reporting needs. Our technologies include but aren’t limited to: AWS (Redshift, DMS, DynamoDB, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch), MS SQL Server, C# NET), JavaScript (Node.js, ReactJS+Redux, ES6), virtualization (Docker, VMs, Amazon EC2+ECS), Chef, and GitHub.
