Job Description:

System Center Senior Engineer

Candidate must have a proven track record in successfully implementing & supporting Microsoft System Tools such as SCOM and SCCM.

Exposure to handling rollout of new and upgrade SCOM & SCCM 2012 to 2016 will be needed

Candidate should be able to provide integrated solutions of these tools with third party tools as well.

Candidate shall work as Technical Consultant coordinating different tracks of implementation, giving directions to team members and building solutions

Candidate should have expertise in identifying functional, technical, and business requirements and provide solutions.

In addition candidate is expected to support practice development initiatives, customer presentations/ demonstrations.

This role also has responsibility for supporting the other System Center components including Operations Manager, Configuration Manager, ServiceNow and Orchestrator

Primary Responsibilities:

Design, managing and maintaining the global enterprise SCOM and SCCM platform.

Perform complex / technical solution design and implementations

Create solutions based on ITIL good practices and implementations

Maintain documentation of configured metrics and configurations

Strong Communication skills with client stakeholders

Manage customer satisfaction through effectively communicating and managing customer expectations

Utilize verbal and written communication skills to maintain accurate system documentation and provide training as required to team members (L2 Operations) and others.

Ability to communicate how to leverage technology to create business value and become more effective and efficient

Work with project managers and peers to understand and solve challenging technical problems, produce effort estimates, and improve system functionality, reliability and reduce costs.

Work closely with Business Technology peers and management emphasizing collaboration and joint effort to ensure that the needs and expectations of organizational stake holders, business

Transfer knowledge via documentation and training to Business Technology resources

partners, external customers, and third-party organizations are met and/or exceeded.


Responsible for collaborating with Unix, Windows and Linux systems engineers, application technical support analysts and developers, internal and external support teams, both offshore and

internal, to determine requirements for filters, events, alerts, dashboards and reporting in various monitoring tools.

Interact with Infra / Network / Application stakeholders in determining appropriate monitoring needs

Perform administrative tasks from the Operation Manager console, provide application support for the SCOM platform and create and maintain monitoring and notification rules.

Review and update SCOM console security, apply patches, create SCOM console roles and reviews, and create and install custom Management Packs (MP) as needed.

Deliver SCOM views via Remote Desktop Web Access, create custom reports on results of SCOM monitoring, using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) technologies, and provide problem

Design and create a road map for SCOM upgrade from 2012 to 2016.


Responsible for collaborating with EUC engineers, application technical support analysts and developers, internal and external support teams, both offshore and internal, to determine .

requirements for software deployment and patching solutions

Perform administrative tasks from the Configuration Manager console, provide application support for the SCCM platform.

Review and update SCCM console security, apply patches, create SCCM console roles and reviews.

Design and create a road map for SCOM upgrade from 2012 to 2016.


Minimum 6 Years of related IT Management Software experience with hands-on experience in large implementations of Configuration Manager and Operations Manager tools in a global

information technology infrastructure environment.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Experience with the installation and administration of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2012 and Configuration Manager and newer.

Experience using the Microsoft Windows PowerShell scripting engine to automate tasks with SCOM/SCCM.

Experience with System Center Orchestrator & ServiceNow Orchestration.

Experience major Microsoft technologies including PC and server operating systems, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, Office, and Forefront Identity Management (FIM

Knowledge of server virtualization technologies, preferably VMware and/or Microsoft technologies.

Produces technical solutions/architectures that are dependable, modifiable and scalable.
