Technical/Functional Skills
This person will be responsible for development and maintenance Batch application with Sybase Database in
Unix/Linux platform having good SAS programming knowledge.
1. 80% of the time will be spent for the maintenance/production support issues and 20% time for the application development.
2. Strong knowledge of Base/SAS, Advance/SAS, SAS/SQL, SAS/MACRO skill in Unix platform.
3. Knowledge of Basic Unix commands, crontab scheduler, Unix Shell scripts, Perl scripts etc.
4. Knowledge of Sybase database.
5. Knowledge of JCL in mainframe
6. IBM Mainframe knowledge would be an added advantage.
Experience Required
1. Good application development and Maintenance skill in SAS, Unix and Sybase
2. Should have good JCL knowledge
3. Should have good application design and analysis skills
Roles & Responsibilities
Work with business stakeholders and Client SMEs to:
1. Support application/system issues impacting the SLA of daily batch schedules on a Unix production support
environment.
2. Extensively work on Unix batch failures like Sybase table loading failure due to data issues, space issues,
system issues, ftp issues, sas errors, connection time out issues etc.
3. Work on documentation process on issues and resolution to follow process guidelines.
4. Support severity 1, 2 & 3 incident management and provide resolutions timely on the incidents.
5. Requirement gathering.
6. Development of High level design document/Low Level design document.
7. Attend meetings with Project stake holder like business users, Architecture group and IT group.
8. Co-ordinate development activities with Offshore.
9. Prepare use case document.
10. Support UAT/Production implementation and Post production support.
11. Participate in weekly status meeting with Client SMEs/offshore team members.
12. Delegate works with team members

Education
Bachelors in Computer Science or Equivalent, Other education backgrounds considered if the candidate possess more than 4 years’ experience in development and maintenance.
