Role: SAS Data Analyst
Location: McLean, VA
Type: Only w2
Centralized Reporting and Data Analytics (CRDA) is seeking an experienced SAS Data Analyst. As a contract worker with the Centralized Reporting and Data Analytics, you will:
Be responsible for optimizing and simplifying reporting capabilities, and automating associated processes
Identify opportunities for efficiencies in work process and innovative approaches to completing scope of work
Participate in team problem solving efforts and offer ideas to solve client issues
Proactively identify problems/issues concerning data accuracy and data integrity
Develop and/or modify existing queries and programs for increased performance and efficiency
Demonstrates a curiosity and drive for identifying the most efficient and accurate reporting solutions
Create and maintain documentation relating to data management including training guides, report specifications, and data dictionaries
Documents the methodologies used to develop reporting outputs, including demonstrating the flow of data
Complete and validate ad-hoc data requests as needed by various internal departments
Not afraid to wear multiple hats - no job being too small or too large
Requirements:
Minimum 7-10 years of SAS experience and practical experience in SQL query scripting, debugging, and execution;
Ability to audit and optimize existing SQL queries.
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or similar quantitative discipline
Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrated knowledge of, and/or a proven record of success performing in a role participating in, analytics projects which include:
- Analyzing large and complex data sets, including a demonstrated thorough aptitude for conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses;
- Utilizing problem-solving skills;
- Strong communication and data presentation skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication to various audiences in a professional business environment;
- Exposure to Alteryx is desirable;
-Proficiency in Tableau is desirable but not required;
- Proficiency in Python or other scripting language is a plus
