Position : SAP Basis Administrator
Location : Frederick, MD
Duration : 6+ Months
Position''s General Duties and Tasks
8 plus years’ experience with SAP Basis
SAP Basis Administration with ABAP stack on ECC 6.0, CRM, SCM 7.x and BI 7.x
Must have knowledge in SAP applications includes SAP ECC, SCM (APO), BW, GTS, CRM, SRM, APO, EWM and Business Objects
Strong SAP Basis skills on SAP Windows clustering, MS SQL and Oracle database and knowledge in AS/400 and DB2 is preferable.
SAP Installation and upgrade experience on both ABAP and Java stack
Strong Solution manager experience and expertise in ChaRM, QGM, Solution monitoring, Business process monitoring and dashboards
Must have hands on experience in Solution Manager upgrade to 7.1 or 7.2
Must have experience in implementing monitoring capabilities using Solution Manager
Ability to create Transport Domain Controller and administer Transport Management System
Should be able to perform independently all standard SAP Basis Administrator duties including installations, upgrades, migrations, patches, system copies, user administration, printer setup, batch job scheduling and other ongoing duties.
Works with Operating System and Data Base Administrators for optimal SAP performance
Participate in and/or lead technical architecture discussions and designs.
Perform complex problem analysis providing an advanced level of application and end user support
Perform ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning to ensure high availability, and performance standards are met
Ensure disaster recovery procedures and solutions are followed and meet business requirements
Experience in Capacity Planning, performance tuning and SAP application monitoring
Preferred experience working on Tax ware, vertex, Paymetric, Cybersource, Webmethods, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Connect ship and other bolt-on applications.
Willing to support production on call support rotation
Preferred working knowledge on SAP archiving and setup
Nice to have experience in Configure, deploy and manage SAP Security Roles (single and composite), Profiles and Authorizations throughout multiple SAP Landscapes to meet unique client security requirements
Knowledge in other SAP applications like CRM, eWM, SCM-APO is preferred.
Knowledge of SAP ASAP methodology
Knowledge of GRC functionality and capabilities in an SAP environment is preferred.
Risk Analyses and Role and User Level Separation of Duties (SOD) analysis is preferred.
Support Production Operations through effective administration of Firefighter Roles needed to provide emergency access in Production as needed to resolve operational issues
Work with SAP via OSS and Solution Manager to resolve technical problems
Perform maintenance and security testing of end user, interface, and background job functionality
Participate in Operations and Maintenance call rotation support
Support end-user Acceptance Testing
Independently completing complex security related tasks
Support the Change Management Process by ensuring consistency of security across landscapes
Ability to work individually (self-motivated) and within a team environment
Ability to communicate effectively with:
- Management – providing status information, suggesting corrective actions, and taking direction when decisions are made
- Diverse customer organizations – accepting guidance and feedback on requirements and deliverables
- Experience using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Desired – SAP Certification in one or more of the following disciplines:
- SAP Security Administration
- SAP Net Weaver or Solution Manager
Education: A BS Degree in computer science or a related field.
