We have an urgent requirement for SAN/vmAdmin Support with our direct client
Position: SAN/vmAdmin Support
Duration: 1 year
Location: Jackson, MS
JOB DESCRIPTION:
VMware duties:
Creation of new VMs and datastores
Creation of VM snapshots and templates
Maintaining and restoring virtual machine "backups" and snapshots.
Monitoring of VM and cluster resources/performance and resolving any related issues
Performing the installation, configuration and maintenance of the VMware virtual
infrastructure, including, but not limited to, vCenter Server Appliance, vRealize Operations
Manager, ESXi, Update Manager and NSX.
Providing support for server hardware failures and assist with hardware replacement.
Developing scripts to gain efficiencies for reporting and automating repetitive tasks
Manage VM replication
VNX SAN duties:
Perform activities related to install, configure, managing and troubleshoot SAN devices and
fiber switches.
Administer Brocade FC switches to include FC zoning using “Network Advisor” software
Administer VNX Storage arrays to include:
Create, extend and remove SAN storage pools
Create LUNs and assign to VMware hosts
Modify, extend and migrate LUNs
Perform system upgrades
Cisco UCS Environment
Network

REQUIRED DEGREE
Degree in Computer Science or the typical experience for education years added on
Required Certification(S)
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
EMC VNX SAN administration with some VMware vSphere/vCenter experience (3+ years)
Must be able to work independently to research solutions and provide recommendations on
factual information (3+ years)
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills (3+ years)
Ability to communicate effectively both written and oral; (3+ years)
Experience with the creation and maintenance of documentation (3+ years)
Maintain system security patching (3+ years)
Preferred Skills:
VNX 5300, VNX 5400 and VNX 5100. Linux and Windows experience is a plus
