We are looking for ROR position in SFO CA for Long term Contract !!
As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will develop backend and front code that is highly visible. You will develop fully functional web applications that align with business objectives. You will grow your skills, work with cutting edge technologies and introduce new tools and techniques to the team. You’ll work in an environment that encourages creative thinking and limits red tape. You’ll collaborate with fellow engineers, UX designers, product management and end users. You’ll come up with ways to do things more quickly and more effectively while maintaining a laser focus on quality. In a nutshell, you’ll create software that makes our team smarter, faster, and better at what we do.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop Ruby on Rails web applications in an agile development environment
Use your Ruby skills to build back end solutions and improve upon applications already built
Evaluate and utilize cutting edge JavaScript frameworks
Rapidly prototype and refine applications based on user experience feedback
Collaborate with product managers, UX staff, and fellow engineers to establish and refine requirements
Requirements:
Full stack web development experience with a strong understanding of one or more modern web application frameworks like Ruby on Rails, Node.js, J2EE or ASP.NET
Experience developing backend services or apps using Ruby or similar languages
7+ years of relevant experience in working with various flavors of Ruby on Rails
Experience migrating applications from older version of Ruby on Rails to newer versions
Experience in working with cloud environments
Experience developing RESTful APIs and the business logic behind them.
Able to leverage structured formats like JSON, YAML, XML and related technologies to build scalable, testable RESTful applications.
Experience with common SQL data layers such as PostgreSQL
Configured or customized a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) or similar application stack
Experience building commercial web applications using Ruby on Rails
Additional Qualifications:
Strong verbal & written communication skills
Lead development teams and development standards
Proficient with one or many JavaScript frameworks such as React, jQuery, Knockout, Angular, D3, and Backbone
Built applications with current and forward-facing web standards like CSS3 and HTML5
Used Test-driven development (TDD) methodologies and automated unit testing tools
Used Behavior-driven development (BDD) tools like Cucumber or RSpec
Some experience with languages such as Python, Perl, Java or C#
B.S. or B.A. in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or comparable work experience) required
