Role System Engineer
Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills Main Accountabilities:
Analyze and comprehend complex technical problems and define solutions to address them.
Writing highly effective ‘C’ and ‘C++’ code used in customer solutions and application frameworks.
Be a customer-facing technical expert and specializing in ’s shopping services.
Provide feedback to Product Managers relating to new product requirements and usability of shopping applications
Ensure high quality code is delivered on time and meets specifications.
Produce/review technical approaches to address business requirements.
Accurately estimating the effort to implement quality solutions for addressing business requirements.
Provide technical expertise to technical operations staff relating to testing, and deployment of solutions using ’s shopping services products.
Keeping your technical knowledge relevant to travel and IT industries fresh, including technology and travel industry standards.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors in information technology, computer science, application development, programming, or related degree and/or equivalent work experience
5+ years developing with Linux platform technologies
Proficiency with Linux, C, C++, gdb, gdb dump analysis, Cygwin, Eclispe
Proficiency with multi-threaded applications, TCP sockets, MQ, cpio files, NAS mounts, bash, perl scripting, python scripting
Software Development Life Cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and deployment

Must be able to demonstrate the following business core and leadership competencies, including:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Team-player attitude coupled with a sense of urgency to deliver results
Self-starter able to deliver results with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
Roles and responsibility • Validating functionality, performance and scalability of new and existing technology solutions.
Diagnosing and solving complex technical issues that may arise.
Provide operational and technical support to 2nd and 3rd level support teams.
Desirable Technical / Functional Skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Travel industry experience in Fares and/or Shopping applications
IBM WebSphere MQ
REDIS and Agile software delivery
Total experience in required skill (years) 8+
