Work with minimal assistance to scope, design, develop, troubleshoot, maintain, configure, and analyze technical and non-technical solutions required to satisfy enterprise service needs. Perform development tasks which will involve extraction and transfer of messages, transformations, validations, cleansing, and preparation of messages for transport between system(s Work on elements of small to large and complex installations. Will develop and implement process improvements, be a resource and advocate for the Enterprise SOA Imitative and will work closely with the system administrators and engineers to perform space planning, monitoring, security, performance tuning, archiving, and upgrade support. Will participate on a rotational on-call schedule. Will develop understanding of the UMB customer & their mission critical systems. Other duties as assigned.

Target Competencies

MINIMUM:

· Bachelor''s Degree in relevant field equivalent or education and work experience combined

· Five - seven years’ experience in a technical role supporting and/or designing application technologies

· Experience in distributed client server environments, relational database technology, and the development or configuration of interface software

· Previous experience working in a multi-vendor environment and achieving broad consensus on designed systems

· Solid experience with “loosely-coupled” SOA architecture components including Enterprise Service Bus, Service Registry & Service Repository based architectures.

· Experience with technical lead of a development team.





PREFERRED AREA - SOA:

· 5 years of Service programming experience

· 5 years of Service Orientated Architect

MINIMUM:

· Ability to communicate and represent SOA Recommendations and Standards to ETS peer groups and Change Control process.

· Ability to lead a team of developers to deliver technical discussions and objectives.

· Ability to lead an agile development process.

· Experience with “loosely-coupled” SOA architecture components including Enterprise Service Bus, Service Registry & Service Repository based architectures.

· Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture Governance process that utilizes a Service Registry and Repository.

· Knowledge of Web Services/API architectures and their implementations.

· Possesses both technical and non-technical problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to conceptualize, plan, develop and deliver a variety of creative solutions.

· Collaborative leadership skills, strong communications & teambuilding skills that optimize contributions from diverse, highly-skilled professionals.

· Ability to identify, develop and document business requirements, technical requirements and functional design.

· Understands and follows formal project methodologies and change control processes.

· Possesses strong time management, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.

· Must be an effective communicator with strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

· Ability to document and explain complex technical concepts.



PREFERRED AREA - SOA:
MINIMUM:

· Hands-on ability provisioning and integrating services using SOA Suite experience such as Software AG, Tibco, Oracle, IBM, Progress or other open source middleware SOA technologies.

· Knowledge of Service Orientated Architecture concepts, design, and patterns.

· Experience with Java, .Net or other service orientated languages.

· Demonstrates the knowledge and experience in Service Governance and Development.

· Demonstrates knowledge of object orientated programming.

· Experience as a SCRUM master in an agile development process.

· Experience with XML, Schema, HTML, REST, XSLT/XPATH, and related mark-up languages.

· Real world experience with messaging (JMS, MQ, Active MQ,)

· Experience in version control, CVS, SVN, VSS, TFS, MKS, etc.

Work Environment
