JOB DESCRIPTION :
Our client is looking for an Oracle/SQL Server database administrator to work with a team of senior database administrators and middleware administrators on internal and customer facing database systems. This role will support both Oracle and SQL Server databases that are used for client applications. This position offers exposure to leading edge database technologies, including Exadata and cloud platforms with growth and advancement potential into increasing levels of leadership and responsibilities.
Our client needs a DBA who has both Oracle and SQL Server experience to provide production support. Does not need an engineer, rather someone who can support the systems and troubleshoot issues. The DBA will process trouble tickets that come through the service console. Need someone who has specifically done this and worked with trouble ticket systems. Experience with the following technologies: Always On Failover cluster and Performance Tuning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform all configuration and maintenance-level database administrative functions
Analyze and resolve database user ticket issues
Manage database user account creation, access and permissions
Perform operations in a manner in which the impact on database downtime is minimized and in accordance with established customer standard operating procedures.
Ensure all Change management procedures are followed and adhered to
Complete planning and documentation prior to new integration or implementation
SQL tuning, backup and restore
Contribute to 24x7 on call rotation
REQUIRED SKILLS
2+ years of experience with Oracle RDBMS
1+ years of experience with MS SQL Server 2008 R2 and newer
Installation, patching, upgrading, configuration, management, and troubleshooting databases
Manage database objects, perform configuration, patch, performance tuning, manage capacity, free space, and logs
Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control (OEM)
Experience with shell scripting, SQL, ANSI or other standard SQL/DDL
Experience with database tuning, backup and recovery
Experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems
