Description:
This position is responsible for assisting the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Team in the development of a road map and strategy that combines current practices with the implementation of Workday Financials and a hosted PeopleSoft 9.2 HCM deployments.

Along with these deployments, EDM is responsible for building out the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and building out related reporting solutions in Tableau, Cognos, and/or Workday.
These deployments are scheduled to go live in July 2019 and January 2020 respectively.

This position will be responsible for reviewing the current architecture, strategy, and requirements to ensure proper resourcing, timelines, scope and best practices. Currently, the EDM Team utilizes an Oracle data warehouse, DataStage for ETL development, and Tableau and Cognos for report development.

IMPACT & INFLUENCE:
This position will interact on a regular basis with: unit and department management and staff, Technical/Functional business owners across the Institute.
This position typically will advise and counsel: unit management.
This position will supervise: N/A.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties may include but are not limited to:
Building a strategy roadmap for the incorporation of Workday data into the EDW and development of related reports. This includes integration, ad hoc, modeling strategies.
Determine best practice in loading data from Workday into the EDW.
Assisting in a resource plan to ensure team is properly resourced for Workday financial component of the EDW and Reporting development

Building a strategy for hosted PeopleSoft HCM deployment into the EDW and development of related reports.
Assist in development of a strategy to integrate database level and reporting solution across the EDW and reports.
Assist in the development of a resource model that takes into account EDM resources and IT resources for short term development and long term support.

Assist in the development of an integration strategy that uses EDW as a hub for some campus systems. Determine pros, cons, and next steps.
Provide any recommendations on how to continue to improve EDW

EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Degrees required for this job: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

SPECIALIZED SKILLS:
Specialized skills required for this job:
Knowledge and experience in the higher education environment.
Development of reporting strategy using ERP systems including PeopleSoft, Banner, and Workday.
Experience in developing and implementing reporting strategy.
Successfully implemented an on premises Data Warehouse using Workday data.

Specialized skills preferred:
Preferred skills include knowledge of the Higher Education environment.
