JOB DESCRIPTION :
The client is seeking a Big Data Consultant who has a proven track record in developing applications in Microsoft Azure cloud and aware of different micro-services based cloud architectures. This individual will work with a team of business analysts, data engineers, and solution architects to migrate existing SAP BI/DW applications to Microsoft Azure platform. The ideal candidate will be required to be strong in Microsoft technology stack.
Position Responsibilities:
Contribute to requirements gathering and analysis activities such as storyboarding, developing use cases, and creating functional requirements specifications.
Create technical design blueprints for batch and streaming analytics
Developing data pipelines including data ingestion, data cleansing, data warehousing, data marts, BI reports, and advanced analytics
Contribute to user acceptance testing procedures and monitoring results.
Solid understanding of various data access and design patterns/practices using Azure micro-services
Technical Architecture. Translate requirements into a technical design with an eye toward leveraging existing tools, services and frameworks.
Thought Leadership & Knowledge Management. You will help digest the flood of incoming information regarding new Azure features, development methodologies, libraries, tools, etc. to help client—stay ahead of the curve.
Configuration of HD Insights and related Azure services
Create and operationalize data pipeline using Azure Data Factory
Author operationalized queries using Azure
Basic Qualifications:
Solid understanding of various data access and design patterns/practices using Azure micro-services
Experience with designing Azure relational databases and optimizing database structure for performance and/or maintainability and the ability to design and optimize queries.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
7+ years professional technology architecture experience
1 year Azure HD Insights / Spark / Data Factory / Data Lake Store / SQL Database / SQL Data Warehouse / Power BI experience
5+ years developing software and/or delivering infrastructure solutions in a consulting environment
2+ years in a cloud development
Ability to design the architectures for integrating core infrastructure technologies in support of enterprise applications
Demonstrated understanding of application infrastructure architecture fundamentals
Experience with automated infrastructure deployments
Exposure to Hadoop and other Big Data tools
R and Machine Learning, a plus
