Description: 1099 Reporting Specialist - On behalf of our client in the Oil and Gas sector Procom Services is looking for one 1099 Reporting Specialist to assist with annual information reporting compliance data gathering, file preparations, and uploads to ensure timely distribution of forms, including but not limited to 1099-Misc, 1099-S and 1042-S.
1099 Reporting Specialist Job Details
Income tax compliance for International and domestic entities.
Assist in preparation of transfer pricing documentation and surplus calculations.
Review / preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions for International and domestic entities.
Interacting with internal Corporate Accounting, Legal, Treasury and Finance departments as necessary.
Involvement in special projects and ad hoc analysis as required.
Makes decisions and recommendations on highly technical or complex issues.
In the absence of formal guidelines or precedents and exercises resourcefulness and ingenuity to interpret policy.
Provides advice in highly complex accounting matters and participates in large scale business projects typically on an area of expertise.
1099 Reporting Specialist Mandatory Skills
Extensive knowledge of what is and what is not reportable.
Dealing with Form W-9 and W-8s.
Knowledgeable on withholding on payments and implications.
Assist with annual information reporting compliance data gathering, file preparations, and uploads to ensure timely distribution of forms, including but not
limited to 1099-Misc, 1099-S and 1042-S.
Meet all reporting deadlines and understand associated penalties for late and incorrect reporting.
Oversee and track the B Notice processes generate and issue timely B Notice letters, track responses received, review and compile inventory tracking status
for action upon deadline and post deadline.
Respond, in a timely fashion, to inquiries from vendors as they relate to tax information reporting and guide cross-functional teams to resolution.
Analyze and partner with the business on the multiple exception reports that require updates and clean-up.
