Release management is a centralized team that coordinates the code moves from the development environment to Production.
Code moves happen on specified dates (release calendars) and the Release management person has to coordinate the source codes that come from multiple projects which are going to production on the same date.
The person has to do code-merge in TFS, use build utilities/tools to do code builds from TFS and push the integrated code to the golden server for verification by respective projects.
If projects report of incorrect code merges then the person has to troubleshoot and fix those discrepancies.
Rollback of codes can happen if the project cannot make the cutoff dates and rebuild the integrated code.
